Merry Thanksgiving?

“JetBlue and Zappos teamed up to turn baggage claim into a prize game and created a cheering section to welcome everyone arriving to New York”, read the headline of the first news article I laid eyes on this morning. Immediately I thought… huh! Those Christmas guys have done it again! Sadly, I was wrong.

It’s been a while since I’ve written here and that’s mostly because I’ve been a bit too preoccupied with MA:D.  I was keen to get back in the game and find out about all the cool campaigns I’d missed. If this is any indication of what went on the past however many weeks it’s been… I’m not impressed.

If you wanna go all out and create a campaign that really makes an impact – keeping with the travel slash holidays theme of course – then try this…

I bet their executives were all like “hashtag nailed it!”

Admittedly, that was a bit excessive and may not be feasible for every airline to pull off. It’s not just the price of the gifts or how outrageous some of the requests were (referring to the lady who asked for “a big diamond ring” in the bloopers reel), it’s the fact it costs a lot of time and money to get a coordinated team together and deliver to an insanely tight deadline… not to mention the setup and publicity costs!
